Things to See and Do in Bali

1) Beaches & Surf
Bali is famous for the beautiful white beaches and secluded bays, the most famous beach in Nusa Dua is where the long stretches of soft white sand will soothe and comfort your feet. Many hotels have their own private stretch of beach with beach club or restaurant together. Kuta and South Bali Uluwatu is a region renowned for good surfing those who make Bali one of the most popular surf destinations in the world.



2) Paddy fields
The beautiful green terraced rice fields that others must see for visitors to the island of Bali. Many tourists will automatically head to Ubud, about 45 minutes from Bali airport to stay at the hotel and villa overlooking the rice fields. The best scenery of rice fields are in Jatih Luwih and Tegallalang not far from Ubud.



3) Galleries and Museums
Beautiful paintings can be found in Ubud, Bali home of many famous artists and candidates. Sights of peace and tranquility the area should be an inspiration for painting highly detailed, the artists created and whose work is displayed in art galleries and museums found in the village of Ubud. Some of the better known galleries is The Agung Rai Museum of Art, Museum Neka, Antonio Blanco Renaissance Museum, Gallery and artist Komaneka Gallery of Art by Women just to name a few.



4) Dance and Music
Dance and music play a very important part of Balinese life. Each ceremonies and festivals almost always accompanied by traditional dances and gamelan soothing voice. You will find many locations in and near Ubud where you can watch dance performances. Dancers wear colorful costumes and glittering, executor for the perfection of elaborate hand gestures and facial expressions to convey the stories Ramanaya You can watch the elegant Legong dance at Ubud Palace in the center of Ubud. Or see other entertaining performances such as Warrior and Dance Kecak Dance at another location in town. Wayang Kulit, or shadow play performances are also a common evening entertainment for the local Balinese people and tourists.


5) Yoga and Spa Treamtents
There are a growing number of world-class spa facilities and health resort in Bali, especially in the Ubud area. 6) Festival and Ceremony
Religion plays a central role in the life of every Balinese family. The island has hundreds of temples, each and every person has a birthday of the temple, known as Odalan. On this day, villagers visit the temple for prayer and socializing. This can be considered a community event to bring people together and promote good feeling among the villagers. With many of the Balinese Hindu religion came everyday practices such as placing offerings such as tray of flowers called Canang Sari in temples, shrines and symbolic locations to ward off evil and pleasing the gods. Hari Raya Nyepi, which is the Balinese New Year is a day spent in reflective silence in prayer and meditation. The days before Nyepi, but provides many opportunities for a tourist to witness the ceremonies and rituals including the procession of Ogoh-Ogoh noisy and colorful place one day before Nyepi, the Day Melasti. This procession is a colorful display of creativity of the Balinese where towering papier ‘monster’ mache are paraded through town in a procession of noisy in a bid to ward off evil.

Galungan is a big celebration for Bali at the end of 10 days are marked with Brass Day. This festival occurs every six months so you will have the opportunity to see it in a year and a half if you missed the first half. The volcano has a large caldera lake and it is possible to go on rising sun rises to the top of Mount Batur, if you can wake up early enough! Gunung Agung, Bali’s largest temple sites and the holiest, Puri Besakih, Bali’s highest and most sacred mountain 3142m high. Pura Besakih, the Mother Temple of Bali is where the most important ceremonies were held and worth visiting if you have the opportunity to go on an tour of East Bali, especially in April when the temple has a birthday.



9) Land Adventure Activities
Apart from the southern tourist cities, Bali is an island still very much in its natural state as compared to other tourist destinations. You will soon realize that there are many locations that provide ideal terrain for a fun adventure activities. Bali is not just Kuta and Nusa Dua. Travel north and you will discover what the real Bali has to offer – culture, spectacular scenery and experience a modern tourist towns with shopping centers really do not have.

Rivers, mountains and forests all the places where you can experience Bali far away from the tourist crowds. Whitewater rafting down the Ayung heart-stopping views of the lake or river rafting is one of the more popular activities for tourists who come to Bali. A mountain bike trip from Kintamani to Ubud through paddy fields and small villages with friendly locals is a relaxing activity for families and individuals alike. Bali is home to Taro Elephant Park, complete with accommodations, activities and fun for all ages elephants. You can ride elephants through the forest, admire their intelligence and let them make you laugh when you visit Taro Elephant safari park in Bali. Quad driving will take you through woods and rough terrain. Tubes Canyon where you sit in a tube and float down the river through the jungle beach is fun activities. A new attraction, Bali Safari and Marine Park is a unique blend of wildlife conservation and culture. You will be able to see wildlife in their natural environment and learn about the ancient Balinese culture in this attraction.


10) Shop till you drop
Finally, what is the first tourists tend to make every trip and most definitely to Bali is for shopping. You have a center of Kuta, Nusa Dua Galeria, the Sun in Legian and Ubud Market where you’ll find all sorts of deals. The Balinese are renowned for their creative and artistic skill evident in the various arts and crafts found throughout the island. Many craft factory found in Tegallalang and surrounding areas. Silver Celuk skilled in the village, selling their creations at the unique shops in Ubud but you will be able to buy their jewelry at prices slightly better. Sukawati art market is where you will find many Balinese fabrics used in clothing and hand made crafts such as woven baskets for a good price. Crafts and sculptures made from natural products found in Bali such as coconut wood, bamboo and volcanic sandstone. Masks and puppets make attractive gift items. You will also find many unique home decor items such as table runners, lampshades and wall hangings to give your home a touch of Bali style when you return. Furniture items are often available at attractive prices than if you buy them from outside Bali.
